Kim has recently been able to return to her passion for painting after spending several years organising and curating exhibitions. From Cornwall originally, Kim left Falmouth School of Art with a Degree in Fine Art, and continued to work in mixed media and painting.
Kim has exhibited widely in the past – including Royal Academy Summer Shows, Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru, and Falmouth Art Gallery to name a few. Recent Exhibitions include:
Arenig Revisited - MOMA, Machynlleth, 2014 (curated and exhibited)
Joint Exhibition - Ffin y Parc, Llanrwst, 2015
Alice in Wonderland - MOMA, Machynlleth - 2015
Kim is really excited by all the possibilities opening up again in her painting – it is primarily an exploration of what she sees in front of her, and while enjoying the physical properties of paint she aims to give a solidity and reality and a significance to the often unassuming subject matter.
"Inspired by my rural surroundings - I value that first hand contact with nature; my sketchbooks are filled with walks, insects, clouds, natural ephemera etc. Patterns and textures fascinate: the velvety skin of a peach, the undulating folds of a distant hillside, the patina of a well thumbed book.....everything has a story to tell."
In 2013 Kim was selected as the winner of the North Wales Open, Clwyd Theatr Cymru.
