Valerie Price-West
Clay as a material to work with has always been a huge fascination to Valerie. To transform a natural material that is under our feet, in to 3D sculptural or usable objects influenced her decision to take the leap and enrolled on a full time degree course in ceramics and 3D at Carmarthen School of Creative Arts as a mature student. In 2012 she graduated with a 1st Degree (Hons).
“Inspiration for my pieces is always very personnel and relates to my own experiences be it rowing Celtic long boats out at sea or riding my horses competitively. All my work tries to portray a special relationship that can be built working together as a team, the inner soul and strength of how far we can push ourselves and what we are able to endure physically and mentally”.
