Joanna Jones
The source of my inspiration is the topography of West Wales and the powerful sense of space and drama that this landscape holds. It is a continually changing land, and so is my response to it. As a result, my palette has become wider, based primarily on Earth colours punctuated with the occasional discordant note. The projection is a move in the direction of semi-abstraction and a less clearly defined emotional response to vast areas which are as unpredictable as they are overwhelming.
Since leaving art college, I worked in art education for 15 years. But a few years back I took the decision to follow my passion, and am now unhindered in my devotion to painting.
